What learners are saying…

"I’m so grateful for the 7 years I spent studying Arabic with Mira. Learning the foundations of Arabic grammar gave me a strong base for developing my conversational Arabic and understanding local dialects both in my personal and professional life. It also gave me a real appreciation of Arabic word patterns and structure - and makes English grammar quite bland in comparison.

Mira’s teaching style is clear, practical and easy to follow, with a strong focus on the foundations and individual learning styles, which I haven’t found in any other courses. I would highly recommend learning Arabic with Mira."

~ Anita (Australian)

“Alhamdulillah, learning Arabic with Mira has been a truly rewarding experience and a blessing from Allah. Her teaching has helped me understand and appreciate the language in a much deeper way. What I especially admire is her ability to keep the entire class completely focused when she teaches, every minute is engaging and purposeful, and we hardly ever find ourselves drifting off track. Her clarity, organisation and passion for Arabic make learning both effective and enjoyable. By the permission of Allah, she has played a beautiful role in my Arabic journey, and I’m truly grateful for all that I have learned from her. May Allah put barakah in her efforts and reward her abundantly.”

“Having studied Arabic under Mira for seven years, I can confidently say she is an exceptional teacher. Over our time together, she guided me through every facet of the language, from the intricacies of grammar and morphology to fluent reading, writing and speaking. What truly sets her apart is her immaculate organisation and her genuine, infectious love for linguistics. Her engaging manner and passion continuously kept me motivated, transforming what could have been a daunting subject into a deeply rewarding journey. Thanks to her, I have developed a profound appreciation and love for the Arabic language, and I highly recommend her courses to anyone looking to learn with Mira.”

~ Ayşegül Turan (Australian-Turkish)

“This course has been incredibly beneficial. My main goal was to learn how to read, write, and understand the Qur’an, and Alhamdulillah, I achieved that and so much more.

What sets this course apart is that it goes beyond Qur’anic Arabic. We explored Arabic literature, poetry, novels, news articles, and everyday topics, making me feel like I was truly living the language rather than just learning it.

This course has greatly enriched both my deen and my daily life, I have been teaching Arabic for over 5 years now and I will always be grateful to Sister Mira for her dedication and for creating such an outstanding Arabic language course.”

~ Amal Abdallah (Australian-Lebanese)

“At the start I intended to study for a small while and then continue self studying, HOWEVER, I really enjoyed Mira's style of teaching. I enjoyed it so much that I did not realise that I was learning from her for the past 7 years!”

I am very pleased to be a student of Mira. I have studied arabic grammar under Mira for 7 years with the intention of learning the language to better understand what I read in arabic. When I started out, I could only recite arabic, but not understand the meaning of what I was reciting. At the start I intended to study for a small while and then continue self studying, HOWEVER, I really enjoyed her style of teaching. I enjoyed it so much that I did not realise that I was learning from her for the past 7 years. As long as she is still teaching, I will continue to study from her.
One thing I really enjoy is that she ensures that everyone in class gets the concept before moving on to the next concept. She builds a strong foundation and teaches in a way that grabs everyone's attention and made new concepts easier to understand and to recall.
I really appreciated her time and effort in teaching me.

Arabic was something that I had wanted to study for a very long time. When I got the opportunity to join Dr Mira's arabic course I did so with no hesitation. It was the best decision I ever made. I studied with Dr Mira for about 14 years and have now returned to study her morphology course.
Dr Mira's classes took me from the beginner level to advanced. In her courses we covered many different topics and were exposed to material that broadened our understanding of the arabic language.
We covered a wide range of written material, took part in listening and speaking activities that helped me improve in the arabic language through the skills I acquired by taking part in all the different activities.
We were required to complete written assessments typed in the Arabic language on the computer. We also completed a debate in the Arabic language which was judged by special guests that were teachers themselves.
The assessments got harder as the courses got more advanced. Some of the assessments seemed impossible for me to complete because I felt they were to advanced for me and when I completed them I felt a huge sense of relief and accomplishment, Alhamdulillah.
Every course completed helped me advance in my arabic language skills and understanding of the Arabic language. I now know alot more vocabulary and am able to understand alot of what I read in the Quran and Arabic text without having to resort to always using the dictionary.
I am forever grateful to Allah and then Dr Mira.
I am currently studying the morphology course and it's such an amazing course to help me with understanding the meaning of many different words that are made up from the same root letters. Knowing the root letters of a word assists in understanding what a word might mean without having to resort to using a dictionary.

I had always wanted to learn Arabic but never had the opportunity. When I came to know about this Arabic course, I immediately decided to take it. I never imagined that I would continue for such a long time as I studied for 8 years. Alhmadulillah it helped me in understanding the Qur'aan with out the need of a translation while listening to Qur'aan recitations in Salah, Taraweeh or just while someone was reciting or I did it myself. It also helped me in memorising Surahs and duas in Arabic.
All this was possible only due to Allah's mercy and the extreme dedication of our teacher Sr. Mira who made a lot of effort to keep the class interesting and continuous. May Allah swt reward her immensely and weigh it heavy in her scales of good deeds. Alhamdulillah I have started teaching Arabic to other students and although maybe I have not achieved the same level of success as our teacher, my students have developed interest and a basic understanding of Arabic and progressing.
I am very grateful to Allah swt and to my teacher for providing we with this opportunity.

“I have been learning Standard Arabic with Mira for over 7 years, and she has been an outstanding teacher throughout. Her teaching style and unwavering dedication have been the main reason I have continued. Her profound knowledge has been immensely beneficial, and she goes the extra mile to ensure every topic connected to Arabic grammar is understood to its core. Thank you, Mira, for your constant encouragement and support.”

~ Razia Begum (Fijian Indian)

“Alhamdulillah, i started learning beginner's arabic with sis Mira when the course was at level 2&3 .. it was well paced and easy to grasp the concepts as she teaches slowly and gradually . My arabic comprehension grew after learning from her and thereafter i felt confident to further my learning in arabic.

Almost 20 years later, i joined another of her course on Sarf (Morphology) and alhamdulillah am learning more of Arabic language. The class is well structured and gradually builds on students' comprehension of the subject matter even if the student has only basic knowledge of Arabic. It is well suited for all ages.

I am beginning to learn another arabic subject العروض والقوافي   at the same time and am grateful for the strong foundations that sis Mira has impart on me throughout the years.”

Learning Arabic grammar as a non-Arabic speaker was challenging, but your dedication made it enjoyable and much easier to understand. I appreciate learning not only the language but also the Arab culture and the language of the Qur’an, which helped me understand and analyse its meanings more deeply. Whenever I read the Qur’an, I still recall our discussion about: كُلُّ ٱلطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّا لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ. It was truly a unique experience, and I'm genuinely sad that I couldn’t continue. Anyone learning Arabic language from you will definitely have an enriching and memorable experience. I’m very grateful for everything I learned.

~ Taahiraa (Australian-Indian)

“I am truly grateful to my Arabic teacher Mira for teaching Arabic in such a beautiful and simple way. Her method of teaching is very clear, patient, unique and encouraging.

Because of her, I not only learned the Arabic language but it also helped me immensely in understanding the Quran. She made a language feel easy and enjoyable.

I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn Arabic, whether for general understanding or to connect deeper with the Quran. May Allah reward her abundantly.”

“Before taking this class, I knew how to read the Qur’an, but I did not fully understand the meaning, depth, and beauty of the language. I thoroughly enjoyed every class with Mira and am incredibly grateful for the way she has helped me deepen my understanding of Arabic and the Qur’an.
Before taking this class, I knew how to read the Qur’an, but I did not fully understand the meaning, depth, and beauty of the language. Through Mira’s teaching, I began to appreciate the richness of Arabic in a completely new way. The linguistic aspects of the course were especially meaningful to me because they allowed me to look beyond simply reading the words and begin to understand their deeper meanings, expressions, and beauty.
I also really enjoyed learning about Arab culture. Every class was thoughtfully prepared, rich in content, activities, conversations, and meaningful homework. The exams at the end of the semester also encouraged us to consolidate what we had learned and truly engage with the material.
Mira is an incredibly dedicated and passionate teacher. She puts so much effort into every class, and it is evident how much she cares about her students’ learning and understanding. One of the most rewarding experiences was reaching the point where we could read, understand, and comprehend the Arabic ourselves. That feeling is difficult to put into words.
I am truly grateful for Mira’s patience, dedication, and ability to make the Arabic language come alive. She has helped me see the Qur’an and the Arabic language with a much deeper appreciation, and I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants not only to learn Arabic, but to understand and experience the beauty of the language.

“My teacher’s motivation made me determined to never miss a single day of an Arabic class throughout that seven years. When the Arabic classes ended five years ago I didn’t know when it would resume, but I kept my schedule free on Wednesdays for half a decade hoping it would start again.”

I’m from a Sri Lankan background, where Arabic is used only for reading the Quran, but I didn’t just want to know how to read the Quran. I also wanted to understand it. That’s why I joined my first Arabic class in 2015.
Alhamdulilah, I was introduced to the world of Arabic language from the very basics, such as Arabic alphabets, to the advanced grammar by Usthada Mira.
The first seven years of my Arabic language learning journey was like a sea voyage. If I had not been steered in the right direction, I would have sunk in the vast ocean. Alhamdulillah I had the help of Allah, Who sent me the best teacher, a well seasoned captain, to stir me through that voyage.
My teacher’s motivation made me determined to never miss a single day of an Arabic class throughout that seven years.
When the Arabic classes ended five years ago I didn’t know when it would resume, but I kept my schedule free on Wednesdays for half a decade hoping it would start again. Alhamdulilah, the Arabic classes resumed this year.
My story is my testimony for anyone interested and privileged to learn under Usthada Mira.
